A panda’s habitat is endangered!

Giant pandas are one of China’s most popular animals, and now their habitat is endangered instead of themselves! In September 2016, giant pandas were not endangered  anymore. An endangered animal is an animal that is close to being extinct. But panda habitats have been growing less and less since 1990. The problem is that humans chop down trees and some bamboo just for making houses and paper. Road-construction and agriculture are some other reasons why their habitat is endangered. Ouyang Zhiyun, an instructor of environmental science, is pleading the for government to provide some space that is panda-friendly for them to live in. The government has spent many years making new forests and habitat reserves, trying really hard to gain back their original population. The change the government made was that they kept the pandas away from crowds and human development.

I chose this article because I love pandas, and I want to know a lot about them so I can help them when I grow up. Also the main idea of this article is that many animals are losing their habitats just because of human development. And if animals are becoming more endangered, they might become extinct! Everyone thought that pandas weren’t endangered anymore, but their habitat is endangered and soon, if we don’t help them, they will be endangered again! This is breaking news because if pandas become extinct, many people all over the world will be upset. Also, if pandas become endangered again, then other animals might also.

I never knew that pandas habitats were endangered and that the reason was we are using bamboo to make paper and houses. I’m glad that the government is making room for the pandas to be safe.
